BDSF stands for Baba Deep Singh Federation. It originated as the Dhan Dhan Baba Deep Singh Jora Ghar Sewa Society in 2001 in Amritsar, focusing on providing langar (community kitchen), chhabeel (refreshment stalls), and caretaking of religious places during ceremonies. Over time, it expanded its scope, transitioning to the Baba Deep Singh Federation in 2004.

Under this umbrella, the organization broadened its activities, such as screening religious films in villages and distributing religious literature to children. The Baba Deep Singh Federation operates as a non-profit, non-governmental organization with a humanitarian mission, aiming to empower disadvantaged and minority communities globally through relief, development, and advocacy efforts
